Leah’s Kitchen to close after 18 years Friday as Akron couple retires

Leah and Randy Francis are calling it quits after running Leah’s Kitchen for 18 years inside the Fairway Center in West Akron.

On Wednesday, Leah Francis will offer her last barbecued pork ribs specific at Leah’s Kitchen & Catering prior to the restaurant closes for superior Friday as she and partner Randy retire.

“My ribs are great. They actually like my ribs,” she explained of her consumers.

The Francises are hanging up their chef hats after 18 a long time managing Leah’s Kitchen inside of the Fairway Middle in West Akron, which homes Summit County Community Wellness.

“It really is been prolonged but it’s been enjoyable. You have to enjoy and like what you do,” claimed Randy, 72, who calls himself chief cook dinner and bottle washer. He is been cooking due to the fact he was 18 and in the Air Drive.

The compact eatery, which seats 25, is identified for its homemade breakfasts and lunches, served 7:30 am. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For 18 yrs, Akron indigenous Leah has accomplished the soups, specials, salads and desserts, even though Euclid indigenous Randy has worked the grill making sandwiches and breakfast goods.
